The universal screw is the absolute all-rounder in the SPAX range. It can do almost everything - for example, it can be screwed in without the annoying pre-drilling into softwoods such as spruce and pine wood, as well as into common wood-based panels (MDF, chipboard, and OSB panels). Our universal screw demonstrates its superiority especially in interior fitting and furniture construction, but it can also be used outdoors with suitable corrosion protection. Thanks to its special thread geometry, the resistance when screwing is significantly lower than with conventional screws, which not only saves your strength and nerves, but also the battery of the screwdriver being used. Splitting of the wood near the edge is almost completely prevented. This means for you: you can screw in more screws per battery charge, and you no longer have to worry about split wood ends!
"The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called internal hexalobular drive. This shape enlarges the contact surface with our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits fit optimally in the screw head. The best possible power transmission from screwdriver to screw through T-STAR plus enables fast work, much more efficiently than with any other drives.
The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) with its polygonal underside ("pockets") creates a recess in the wood and can therefore be sunk without the need for additional countersinking of the screw hole. The countersunk head flushes with the surface.
In contrast to partial thread, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from screw to wood. Our full thread screws are mainly used for highly stressed wood connections.
