The universal screw is the absolute all-rounder in the SPAX range. It can do almost everything - for example, it can be screwed in without the annoying pre-drilling into softwoods such as spruce and pine wood, as well as into common wood-based panels (MDF, chipboard and OSB panels). Our universal screw demonstrates its superiority especially in interior finishing and furniture construction, but it is also suitable for outdoor use with the appropriate corrosion protection. Due to its special thread geometry, the resistance when screwing is significantly lower than with conventional screws, which not only saves your strength and nerves, but also preserves the battery of the screwdriver being used. Splitting of the wood near the edge is almost completely prevented. This means for you: you can screw in more screws per battery charge, and you no longer have to worry about split wood ends!
"The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called internal hexalobular drive. This shape enlarges the contact surface with our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits fit optimally in the screw head. The best possible power transmission from screwdriver to screw through T-STAR plus allows for quick work, much more efficiently than with any other drives.
The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) mills a recess into the wood with its polygonal underside ("pockets") and can therefore be sunk without the need for additional countersinking of the screw hole. The countersunk head is flush with the surface.
In contrast to a partial thread, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. Our full-thread screws are primarily used for highly stressed wood connections.
